API 5L GR. B HSAW (Spiral Submerged Arc Welding) pipe is a longitudinally welded steel pipe used in oil and gas transmission systems. These pipes are manufactured using the spiral submerged arc welding technique, in which a strip of steel or steel plate is spirally and continuously welded on a mandrel to form a seamless pipe.

API 5L GR. B refers to the American Petroleum Institute's specification for pipeline pipe with a minimum yield strength of 245 MPa (35,500 psi) and a minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa (60,200 psi). HSAW pipe is typically used in applications requiring high strength, corrosion resistance and resistance to harsh operating environments.
